Dear Families: It is that time of year where we need new parent volunteers to begin to think about taking a PTA Board Member position. The PTA Board is made up of the four executive members: president, vice president, secretary and treasurer and the five standing board members: fundraising, community, communication, nominating and membership. At the February 17 general PTA meeting, our Nominating Chair will ask for nominations for our four executive members: president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. You can find descriptions of each of these positions on the PTA Web site. Please come ready to nominate someone you know (they MUST be present) or yourself for one of these positions. The executive elections are conducted at the March PTA meeting and take office in May. This is an exciting opportunity to get more involved with the High Tech community.
We are filling our school halls with LOVE this February. Each student has received one Art Heart to decorate. Additional hearts can be purchased through the form that was sent home with students. This is a fun way to send special messages to friends, teachers and even brothers or sisters! Parents can send students a heart. Teachers can use the hearts to tell their class how proud of them they are. The possibilities are endless! Art Hearts and Additional Hearts with funds are due Friday, Feb. 5.
SCHOOL STORE
We need parent volunteers to help run the Hawk Store.
WEDNESDAYS: During lunch from 11:15-12PM (Volunteers needed from 11AM-12:15PM), students can visit the Community Room off of the Cafeteria (Limited prize selection) after eating lunch.
The winner of the January Box Tops was Ms. Philipsen’s class — her students earned a free-dress day for Friday, February 12. Please turn in your Box Tops for the February competition by the last day of the month.
