Dear Families:
We are very fortunate to be able to host Feather Berkower, LCSW, at High Tech on Saturday, November 14 from 10AM-2PM for a half-day parent education event. “Parenting Safe Children – Keeping children safe from sexual abuse,” is compelling, relevant and important. If you have questions about this event, visit Feather’s site or talk to someone who has already attended her presentation. Take Feather’s online quiz to test your knowledge about kids and sexual abuse. The HTES event is open to the community, so please invite friends and family. If you have questions, please contact Allison Pettersson, our parent liaison for this event. The cost is $53.75 with a special rate for educators. Space is limited – please register early at register at http://bit.ly/1LMZGJO.

Our Fall Community Festival is Sunday 10/25
The PTA’s annual Fall Festival celebrates the changing of the seasons. This year’s celebration will be hay bales of fun for the entire family. All PTA community events are free and provide the HTES students, families, and teachers/staff a chance to spend time together in a fun setting. If your child or children have a costume to wear, have them put it on (but it is ok if they don’t) and enter our costume parade, get some popcorn and apple cider, take a hayride around the playground, and then join us to learn some easy square dance steps. Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 25 from 4-6PM!
Your Child’s Artwork as Gifts
Our annual fundraiser that takes your child’s artwork and puts it on high quality gifts is currently underway. The kids have created their masterpieces. You will see more information and order forms come home in backpacks early in November.
Reward Programs – Easy Ways to Give to High Tech
There are several ways to donate money to our school through your daily purchases, where a percentage of sales comes back to the school or you bring in an item from something you have already purchased for credit. High Tech Elementary PTA is set up with several rewards programs, including King Soopers, Target RedCard, Box Tops for Education, AmazonSmile, and Milk Caps for Moola with Longmont Dairy. If you haven’t connected with these programs, please visit our Rewards Programs page to get all the details and don’t hesitate to contact our program chair Julie Gladnick for more details.
